Terms of use
Last updated: October 13, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Heal Kinder ("Heal Kinder", "we", "us") for using the Heal Kinder website and its groups. By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Heal Kinder.
1. Who can use Heal Kinder
You must be 18 or older to create an account or join a group. By using Heal Kinder, you confirm that:
- you are at least 18 years old and able to agree to these terms;
- the details you give us are true, and you keep them up to date;
- you won't pretend to be someone else or share your account with anyone.
You're responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything done through your account.
2. What Heal Kinder is
Heal Kinder is an online peer support community. Members can book and join small live video groups, take part in group chat, and track their own small wins and progress. Groups are either hosted by a member with lived experience, or guided peer groups, with no host and the Heal Kinder guide to welcome everyone and offer talking points.
We provide the website and the technology that makes these groups possible. We don't control what people say in a group, and we can't check every conversation as it happens.
3. Hosts
Hosts are members who choose to run groups. They share their own lived experience; they are not therapists, doctors or counselors, and they are not our employees or agents. Hosts are responsible for the groups they run, including following these terms and the community guidelines.
4. Not medical care or therapy
Heal Kinder is peer support. It is not medical, psychological or psychiatric treatment, therapy, or professional advice, and it doesn't replace them. Nothing said in a group, by a host or another member, is professional advice. Talk to a qualified professional about your health, treatment or medication.
5. Crisis situations
Heal Kinder is not a crisis service. We don't monitor members for signs of crisis and can't step in during an emergency. If you might harm yourself or someone else, or you're in danger:
- call 911 (or your local emergency number);
- call or text 988, the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, any time in the US;
- text HOME to 741741 (Crisis Text Line);
- in the UK, call Samaritans on 116 123.
Taking part in groups can help many people, but we can't promise it will improve your mental health or prevent harm. You're responsible for getting professional help when you need it.
6. How to behave
Everyone agrees to our community guidelines. In particular, you must not:
- record, screenshot, photograph or share what is said or shown in a group;
- harass, threaten, bully or abuse anyone, or use hateful or discriminatory language;
- share sexual content, or graphic details of violence or self-harm;
- give medical, legal or medication advice, or pressure anyone into sharing;
- join a group under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
- sell, advertise or recruit, or move members to other platforms;
- disrupt groups, misuse the report button, or try to break, overload or get around the site's security;
- encourage anyone else to break these terms.
You never have to share anything in a group. Listening is always fine.
7. Safety tools and moderation
The chat blocks offensive language automatically. Hosts can mute or remove people from their groups. Any member can privately report someone in a room; when enough people in the room do, that person is taken out of the session and our team is told. Members can also report profile pictures.
We may look into reports and, at our discretion, remove content, limit features, suspend or close accounts, or take other steps to protect the community. We aren't obliged to monitor everything, and we can't guarantee that all harmful behavior will be caught.
8. Other members
You take part in groups and talk with other members at your own discretion. We don't check members' identities or backgrounds, and we can't guarantee how anyone will behave or that what they say is accurate. Please use good judgment, and don't share details that could identify you or others if you'd rather not.
9. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post, such as your username, profile picture and the small wins you share. You give us permission to store and show it on Heal Kinder so the service works (for example, showing your picture to other members). Only post things you have the right to share. Pictures must follow our picture guidelines and can be hidden or removed if they don't.
10. Our content
The Heal Kinder name, logo, artwork, text and software belong to us or the people we license them from. You can use the site for your own, personal, non-commercial support. Please don't copy, resell or build on it without our written permission.
11. Privacy
Our privacy policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have, including deleting your account.
12. Free service and changes to it
Heal Kinder is currently free. We may add, change or remove features, groups or topics, or pause the service, at any time. If we ever introduce paid features, we'll tell you clearly before you're charged anything.
13. Closing your account
You can delete your account at any time from your account page. We may suspend or close an account, with or without notice, if we believe it has broken these terms or puts the community at risk.
14. Disclaimers and limits on our liability
Heal Kinder is provided "as is" and "as available". We do our best to keep it running and safe, but we don't promise it will always be available, error-free or secure, or that groups will run as scheduled.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for what other members, including hosts, say or do. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that can't legally be limited.
15. Your responsibility to us
If you break these terms or the law while using Heal Kinder, and that leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and losses that result, to the extent the law allows.
16. Disagreements
If you have a problem with Heal Kinder, please contact us first at hello@healkinder.com; most things can be sorted out quickly. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where Heal Kinder is based.
17. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time and will change the "last updated" date when we do. If a change is significant, we'll let members know by email or on the site. Carrying on using Heal Kinder after an update means you accept the new terms.
